XSEED Games has announced three games it will be publishing in 2016 ahead of E3 2016. The company will bring digital copies of Exile’s End to the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Wii U in summer 2016. This will be followed by Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity for the PlayStation 4 in fall 2016. Also, XSEED will publish the PlayStation 4, PlayStation Vita, and Nintendo Wii U physical Risky Beats Edition of Shantae: Half Genie Hero, which is $29.99 and includes a 20-song soundtrack.
Exile’s End is a 2D side-scrolling platformer with some mild Metroidvania elements. The son of Ravenwood, a mega-corporation that acts as a planet’s government, has been kidnapped. You’re the rescue team’s only surviving member, Jameson, and must explore the planet to save the kidnapped child.
Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity stars Remilia Scarlet, the Scarlet Devil vampire, and her maid, Sakuya Izayoi. After stepping out to investigate claims of a strong monster, Remilia returns home to find her home in ruins. She and her maid go through a top-down action RPG with bullet hell elements, going through the manor and defeating every enemy they find there.
Shantae: Half-Genie Hero is the fourth Shantae game and began its life as a Kickstarter campaign in 2013. Pirates are attacking Scuttle Town again, and it’s up to the half-genie Shantae to defend it. She’ll use her hair as a weapon and eventually learn multiple transformations. Each new transformation will allow her to reach new areas, both in old and new locations in the world. Due to various stretch goals being reached, players will also be able to play as Sky, Bolo, and Rottytops in this outing.
Exile’s End, Shantae: Half-Genie Hero, and Touhou: Scarlet Curiosity will all be playable at E3 2016.
