In a smart move, Alchemist are porting their PlayStation 3 remakes of the Umineko no Naku Koro ni saga to the PSP. Now that the second half of the story, Umineko no Naku Koro ni Chiru, has been announced for the PlayStation 3, it’s going to get the PSP treatment as well.

The PSP versions of Umineko are split into four separate releases, each one representing two chapters of the full story. This will kick off with Umineko no Naku Koro ni Portable 1, which will include the Legend of the Golden Witch and Turn of the Golden Witch chapters.

Portable 2 will cover Banquet of the Golden Witch and Alliance of the Golden Witch. Starting with Portable 3, the story will enter the Chiru arc with End of the Golden Witch and Dawn of the Golden Witch. Finally, Portable 4 will conclude with Requiem of the Golden Witch and Twilight of the Golden Witch.

Each PSP release will cost 3,990 yen (about $51). Umineko no Naku Koro ni Portable 1 will be released on October 20th. Portable 2 will follow on November 17th. Release dates for the portable Chiru half haven’t been announced yet.
