The Nintendo Wii U Virtual Console has been updated with two classic games in North America. People can experience the Nintendo GameCube’s Donkey Kong Jungle Beat, as well as play some Mario Hoops 3-on-3 on a system other than their Nintendo DS.

Donkey Kong Jungle Beat first appeared on the GameCube in North America in 2005 and could be played with the DK Bongos controller. However, a New Play Control! Nintendo Wii version released in 2009 let people use the Wii Remote and Nunchuk to play and adjusted certain gameplay elements. The version added to the Nintendo Wii U Virtual Console is that Nintendo Wii edition. You’re still moving the nunchuks to get through levels, play minigames, and clapping in time with the beat, but this version does have a heart-based health system, adjusted levels, and new levels in addition to the different control scheme. It’s $19.99 in the eShop.

Mario Hoops 3-on-3 originally appeared on the Nintendo DS in 2006. It’s a basketball game from Square Enix and Nintendo with Challenge, Exhibition, Matchup, and Tourney modes. Players not only use characters from the Super Mario series, like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Daisy, Yoshi, and Donkey Kong, but also Final Fantasy favorites like Black Mage, Cactuar, Moogle, Ninja, and White Mage. It’s $9.99 in the eShop.
