Back on the Famicom, Capcom developed a Mega Man party game. However, Wily & Light's Rockboard: That's Paradise!! isn’t a mini-game collection like Mario Party. Rockboard shares more in common with Monopoly or Enix’s Itadaki Street series. You roll dice, move on a board, purchase properties and make bets to collect the most Zenny. While familiar faces from the Mega Man series like Roll, Dr. Cossack (!) and Wily appear in the game, Rockboard is an obscure entry in Mega Man’s long linage. Probably because Capcom chose not to localize it and the language barrier prevented it from being a popular import.
Just shy of Mega Man’s 20th birthday, a group of hardworking fans finished an English translation. They even made two versions, a direct translation with the original names (i.e. Rockman versus Mega Man) and a localized version. Neat!
