Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runner – MARS releases this September but fans in Japan and Europe can now try out the game with a demo that Konami just released.
You can grab the Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runners – MARS demo to try out the game in 4K resolution or with PlayStation VR in the links below:
Here are some tips for beginners provided by the PlayStation Blog:
1. Start off slow
Not only is the demo playable in native 4K resolution AND VR, we’ve introduced brand new pro controls, giving you even more control of JEHUTY as you battle your way across Jupiter. That said, whether you’re new to the game or a Zone Of The Enders veteran, we wouldn’t recommend jumping in with the pro option straight off the bat. Give yourself some time to adjust to the basics first, stick with standard controls and switch over when you’re ready to take JEHUTY for a proper spin.
2. Practice makes perfect!
We all know just how aggravating it can be when you can’t grasp the way a game works. Mashing buttons and spinning around aimlessly isn’t particularly fun. So, when you get into the demo, take full advantage of the training zone.
Learn the best way to move around, shoot, dodge and basically get to grips with how you can truly enjoy the game. There’s no limit to your time in there, so spend as long as you like practicing away before flying right into the action.
3. Master your own combat style
Going in Orbital Frame first or standing back and observing your options are both useful ways to defeat your enemies. That said, there’s no set way for you to battle in the Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner – M∀RS demo. Get hacking and slashing right away or tactically pick off enemies from a distance – whatever works for you, works for JEHUTY.
4. If you can, do it in VR!
If you have a PS VR headset, you just have to try the demo in VR. Control JEHUTY from the actual cockpit, look at all the controls and check out a 360-degree view of the world. Fighting up close and personal becomes even more intense when playing in VR and locking on to dozens of enemies before you fire at them is hugely satisfying when it unfolds right in front of your eyes (literally)! Stunning visuals, check. Full control, check. COMPLETE IMMERSION, CHECK!
5. Turn up the volume
This might sound like a minor point, but sound design is big part of the Zone Of The Enders: The 2nd Runner – M∀RS package. Much like the visuals, the game’s audio has been remastered to accommodate next-gen surround sound systems. So, turn up the volume and get completely immersed in the world of The 2nd Runner.
Zone of the Enders: The 2nd Runners – MARS releases in North America on September 4, 2018. It releases in Japan and Europe on September 6. The demo hasn’t been announced for North America.
