Xbox 360 Hands on: Final Fantasy XI

By Spencer . November 20, 2005 . 9:14pm

Square-Enix premiered Final Fantasy XI in hi-def at Zero Hour. I got a chance to play it with a level 75 Hume Paladin and a level 75 Taru Monk / White Mage. It wasn’t a huge difference from playing FFXI at home, since they weren’t showing off the new expansion pack. Watching my Taru do a Dragon Kick on a monkey was cool to watch, but we really weren’t given too much of a chance to explore or party with other people. Everything was on private servers and we couldn’t upload our characters for play. As for controls, you use the D-pad to navigate through the menus, the analog sticks to move around, but what I was really psyched about was the USB keyboard they had for us. With the keyboard it was easy to set use macros and get the full experience. For now all I can say is it sure looks pretty…
