Hands on with the Pursuit Force demo

With a noticeable drought in PSP games Pursuit Force is just what gamers are looking for. Imagine Need for Speed mixed with police car chases and you’ll have a good idea of what Pursuit Force is. In the demo we got to race around in a car with the goal of trying to catch toxic waste trucks speeding on the highway. Instead of just ramming into the trucks Pursuit Force has players leap from their car to capture the offending vehicle. Once you’re holding on to the hood for dear life you can dispatch the drivers and take over the vehicle.

The controls are easy to pick up, you hold down X to speed up and when you’re close enough to another vehicle press circle to jump. Once you land on the hood of a convict car you can draw your gun by pressing R1. Whether you’re driving a police car or a speed boat, the three level demo showcased the same gameplay. However, one level where you’re chasing down an escaped convict ends with a boss fight. Instead of being in a car you’ll be flying in a helicopter armed with a stationary chain gun. All three of the levels took about fifteen minutes to complete, but we want to see the full package set for a March 6th release in the USA. If you can’t wait to try this out, Pursuit Force is currently available in Europe.
