World of Warcraft as a resume builder

When Yahoo! was looking for a new managerial candidate they had plenty of capable applicants. One thing put Stephen Gillett above the pack, being a WOW guild master. Yahoo recognized that Gillett must have had a background in leadership to efficiently manage a group of gamers. Wired magazine says, “the process of becoming an effective World of Warcraft guild master amounts to a total-immersion course in leadership.”
