Max price of the Nintendo Wii set in Japan

Everyone has been playing the guessing game about the Wii’s price tag and Nintendo has been silent about the final price. However, we’re getting closer to zeroing how much money to save since Nintendo said that a price greater than 25,000 yen was out of the question in Japan. Traditionally Nintendo consoles have launched at a price point of $199, but since the PS3 and Xbox 360 are prices significantly higher some financial analysts are betting on a $249 Wii. If Nintendo keeps the same price point in mind it looks like the Wii would be no greater than $225 in North America.

I am definitely hoping they keep the same price point in mind. Then again prices could easily go up for a US release. It would be nice to have it at the $199 price point that Nintendo seems to like so much for previous system launches.

$250 sounds nice. You could buy an Xbox 360 AND a Wii for the price of a PS3 then.
