Some princesses just keep getting captured by evil entities, like the one in the Ghosts n’ Goblins (Makaimura) series. The evil lord has awoken and Arthur heads to the underworld again to save the world. It’s been awhile since a true Ghosts n’ Goblins game came out, but the series fourth edition sticks to its roots. Sort of like Mega Man X: Maverick Hunter (Irregular Hunter X) Ultimate Ghosts n’ Goblins, the rebirth of the franchise, is a 2D game with a 3D engine. After being away for all these years, Arthur picks up some new skills like a double jump, ledge grabbing and dashing to bring him up to speed from the 16-bit era. The game is coming to Japan in August under the name Goku Makaimura and it is heading to North America in September. Check below for a bunch of screenshots of Ultimate Ghosts n’ Goblins below.
Awesome!!! Yeah this is an amazing franchise and I’m really looking forward to it. I remember not being able to get over how cool the pirate ship was on the SNES, what an amazing game. Damn, now I have to ebay that :) I hope they go the SNES gameplay version. The limitation of not being able to shoot upwards was ridiculous on the Genesis
