Over 2 million copies of Advent Children sold worldwide

Square-Enix is probably happy that they didn’t give up on animation after Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within. The Final Fantasy VII sequel, Advent Children, sold 2.4 million copies of the DVD/UMD worldwide. The movie was released on April 25^th in North America where 1.3 million units were sold. Another million copies were sold in Japan since September 2005.

I finally bought a N. American copy after several delays, and for a brief time serious doubts about an actual release stateside. I for one am very happy that I was able to purchase a copy that was not an import. I had gotten a decent sub-titled copy last year off the internet; but, having an official disc in it’s own case, looks much better in my collection.
