Expensive Mario artwork sells on eBay

What hardcore Nintendo fan wouldn’t want to have a picture of Super Mario Brothers hanging on their wall? One artist who specializes in making pop culture reprints created a 39” by 39” acrylic painting of the box art from the NES version of Super Mario Brothers. While the picture is cool it’s also pricey, 150.00 GBP ($276). That is greater than the price of two DS Lites, nearly half the price of a PS3 and about the same price as 30 stuffed Mario’s according to Amazon. If you’re interested here’s the eBay link.

That's cool and everything, but the Mario Brothers cartridge's art just doesn't do it for me unless it has a pizza stain on it from 1988.
  • sweet -- I was actually planning on doing something very similar. I've already re-created that entire box art in Macromedia Freehand. I was going to either make a print of it or paint it.
