Singstar heading to North America

Europe’s long running PS2 hit karaoke series, Singstar, is finally coming to the USA this fall. Like Karaoke Revolution players can sing their heart out in freestyle mode or compete in the game’s battle mode. The Singstar package comes with thirty songs, two microphones and a USB microphone converter. Instead of having a virtual stage or a trippy lightshow, Singstar uses music videos from the artists for background visuals. Singstar also supports the Eyetoy so players can sing on TV. Perhaps one of the most unique features in the package is the ability to record performances onto a memory card and then enhance them. Cheap American Idol demo tapes anyone?

As long as the music is good and not totally overshadowed by some typical smutty videos, I’m going to like this more than Karaoke Rev :)
