While it was never quite the hit that Nintendo wanted it to be, the Virtual Boy managed to create a fan base all of its own. Some of the fans are collectors who want to snatch up copies of rare Virtual Boy releases like Virtual Lab and SD Gundam Dimension War. Used copies of these games easily run for a couple of hundred dollars, but that is chump change compared to the price of this prototype Virtual Boy System. Supposedly from Spaceworld ’94 or the CES show the prototype can play all Virtual Boy games. So what makes it special? Look closely at the controller. The first image is the prototype system and the picture below the jump is the system’s final release.
