The nominees for best games developed in Canada are…

Taking place on September 14, 2006 is the first annual Canadian Awards for Electronic and Animated Arts. The CAEAA just released their list of nominated games. One of the rules for a nomination is that the game had to have some development in Canada. The list is heavily bent towards Ubisoft with Peter Jackson’s King Kong and Prince of Persia: The Two Thrones being nominated for multiple categories. For some reason THQ / Relic’s Xbox 360 run and gun game the Outfit also got nominated many times. The CAEAA went as far to put The Outfit in the game of year category and for best innovation in a gaming. The full list is past the jump, but we won’t know who wins until William Shatner announces the winners at the River Rock Show Theater in Vancouver next month.
