Last year Atlus published Riviera: The Promised Land for the Game Boy Advance. The GBA game was a remake of an obscure Wonderswan Color game by Sting. Now the game is getting another remake this time for the PSP. For the PSP port, Sting is remaking the sprites and adding in voice acting. Riviera is set in Ragnarok, a divine war between the realm of the gods (Asagard) and the land of the demons (Utgard). The demons make quick work of Asagard and all hope seems lost for the gods. Their last hope was to summon the Grim Angels as allies in the war. The gods and Grim Angels reclaimed Asgard, but at the price of the gods’ lives. Now a millennium later the demons are beginning to invade Asgard again. When they reach the island of Riviera the Grim Angels are summoned again to complete the Retribution and rid the world of the demon forces once and for all.

The remake of the sprites look worse than the original =/ Other than that, I’m glad PSP owners get a chance to play this game. It was one of my favorite GBA rpgs.
