NIS has been extending their reach outside of the strategy RPG realm with Amekoushi no Kan. The game is a collaboration project with Fog who created the Missing Parts series where gamers help track down a killer. Amekoushi no Kan is part of the same genre where players have seven days to crack a murder mystery in a mansion. Players can wander the around the mansion, interrogate the residents and search for clues to discover who the culprit is. If you can crack the case early the seven characters in the mansion live, but if time passes the actors in the mansion might not survive.

I haven’t tried any of those Missing Parts games, but have heard a few good things from friends. I might actually check out this new detective game — sounds like it could be fun.
