Final Fantasy XII and Kingdom Hearts spin offs head to the Nintendo DS

Through a Shonen Jump scan Square-Enix revealed three new games based off of Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy XII.

It’s a Wonderful World (Nintendo DS) is defined as a touch action RPG. Tetsuya Nomura who did the character design for Kingdom Hearts and Final Fantasy VII is handling It’s a Wonderful World. The style is similar, but much more urban, more hip and much less fantasy like. As for battles they take place on both of the screens on the DS. This is a new IP made by the Kingdom Hearts team. (correction*)

Kingdom Hearts II: Final Mix (Playstation 2) is the “complete” version of Kingdom Hearts II. The game has a card battle system similar to Kingdom Hearts: Chain of Memories and it just might explain some thing that happened at the end of the Kingdom Hearts II secret ending….

Final Fantasy XII: Revenant Wings (Nintendo DS) is an all new game in the world of Ivalice. Vaan and Penelo are the protagonists and they look younger and more childlike. Could this be a prequel to Final Fantasy XII, speculation points to yes.

See the complete scan here. Thanks to everyone who sent this in.

Edit: Reread the scan. It’s a Wonderful Life is made by the same team as Kingdom Hearts and it isn’t a Kingdom Hearts spin off.

Oh? It’s a wonderful world is a KH spin-off is it? Well now I’m interested ^_^

Aoshi Says:

I think it’s a stand alone new title and not a KF spin-off. The article only says the game is presented by the same team who made KH.

Konami Says:

I wonder when Tetsuya Nomura will realize his games are mediocre, likewise his art/character designs?

Hyper Cutter Says:

I really, REALLY hate that “Japan-only rerelease with cool extras” BS Square-Enix has been pulling since about FFX…
