Halo Wars versus Halogen

Microsoft is working with Ensemble Studios to create a brand new Halo RTS called “Halo Wars”. Not much is known about the game, but below is the teaser trailer.

Before Halo Wars was announced Slipstream Productions was working on their fan based Halo real time strategy game called Halogen. It’s a mod of Command and Conquer: Generals, but it looks impressive as seen by the trailer before.

What do you guys think of the two games now that you’ve seen them side by side?

  • Just based on what I saw there, I would put money on Halogen; at least their trailer has gameplay shown. A Halo RTS seems a bit too close to Starcraft in my opinion. Teran= Humans, Protoss= Covenant, Zerg = Flood… that’s just the way it seems to me at least. I wish them the best of luck with it anyway. I just feel bad for RTS game makers having to go up against an 8 year old title, and always losing to it.

  • It was a shame from Microsoft to shot down halogen two years after it was “announced”. I can totally understand they decision but they should have done that back then, not one week before officially announcing what nobody expected.

By the way, can somebody tell me the title and the artist of the song from the HALOGEN trailer? it’s awesome. the mod would have been too.
