Trauma Center training: a look at the two new operations

Coming out for the Wii on launch day is Trauma Center: Second Opinion. A full remake of the Nintendo DS game with Wii controls, vastly improved graphics, a new doctor and two new operations. Here is a look at the two added skills in Atlus’ medical drama game.

 

Using the defibrillator

 

When patients suffered from heart failure in Trauma Center: Under the Knife players would rub some antibiotic gel over the heart and “massage” it by following a bar up and down. Trauma Center: Second Opinion gives you the right tool for the job, a defibrillator. The nunchuck acts as one paddle and the remote is the other. By holding down buttons on the controllers and placing the paddles you can revive a patient from heart failure.

 

Repairing broken bones

 

Unlike the other operations, repairing fractures doesn’t require extra tools, it requires wit. Fixing broken bones are played out in a puzzle mini game where you reassemble the fracture by placing pieces of bone in order.
