Tamagotchi joins the Mario Kart GP

Namco Bandai is making a sequel to Mario Kart GP, an arcade only Mario Kart racing game. Mario Kart GP 2 adds in two new characters, Waluigi from the Nintendo camp and strangely Mametchi, a Tamagotchi. There are new items in the game like the FLUDD water pack from Super Mario Sunshine and Tamagochi toys. For all of the hardcore Mario Kart players there are alternate hidden carts to find. See pictures of the special karts on the arcade flyer.

I'm thinking that's one of the animals from animal crossing, rather than a Tamagatchi. Love to see Mario Kart in the arcades though!

It actually is a Tamagotchi. Namco Bandai is developing this title and they are also the creaters of the Tamagotchi series so they're bringing Mametchi into the game just like how they brought Pac-Man in the first Mario Kart GP game. Also it says Tamagotchi in the flyer ;).
