Konami plans more PSP shooter compilations

Although it was a port, Gradius Portable rocked. The success of that compilation has prompted Konami to release other shooter packages. Here’s what is in store for early 2007 in Japan.

Parodius Portable

Parodius

Gokujou Paridous

Sexy Parodius

Jikkyou Oshaberi Parodius

Twinbee Portable

Twinbee

Detana! Twinbee (TG-16)

Twinbee Yahho! (Saturn / PS1)

Salamander Portable

Salamander

Lifeforce (NES version)

Salamander 2

Xexex

Each of the games also comes with a secret game not on the list. For Twinbee Portable, I’m hoping it is Twinbee RPG for PS1, the last game in the series.

As much as I think ports are the lazy man’s way to develop for the PSP, I’m glad that they’re at least porting good games to it. I remember spending hours playing Parodius with the different ships. I thought Gradius was pretty boring, but Parodius was GREAT.
