Konami classics coming to Xbox Live

Contra! That’s right, Contra is coming to Xbox Live arcade and it is being enhanced with new graphics, leaderboards and online multiplayer. New graphics for the classic title sounds great as long as it sticks to its 2D roots. Konami is also bringing the 1983 psuedo 3D space shooter, Gyruss, to Xbox Live arcade. Like Contra Gyruss will get a graphical upgrade, but the Xbox Live release will also include the original game. For Japan only Konami has Yie Ar Kung-Fu scheduled for an Xbox Live release. While no upgrades for Yie Ar Kung-Fu have been announced, it seems likely that pre cursor to the 2D fighting genre is going to get a new coat of paint too.

 

Below we have the original arcade promo fliers for each of the arcade games. Notice that the Yie Ar Kung-Fu flyer has no screenshots of the game. Were arcade owners buying the game blindly based on a sketch?
