I played EQ1 from Launch for about 4 years and I loved it. However, post Luclin they started making things far too easy and boring which is why I quit. Since then, I have yet to find an MMO since the original EQ that has kept me entertained for any period of time (Including WoW) and I have been looking forward to Vanguard since Brad is involved. He was always very hands on with the community in EQ and was just "One of the guys".

I really hope that the difficulty factor of Vanguard keeps away all the people who ruined the original EQ and brings it back to the hardcore audience. We may be small, but we like what we like and want it back. That is why you had things like Winter's Roar. People want the old school EQ back =)

Do people still play EQ? Last I checked, the percentage of even the EQ2 players was but a tiny fraction of the MMO population whole.

Don't worry about addiction if you're ever curious, unless you have a unnatural predilection towards excrutiatingly tedious monotony.
