Circuit City throws PS3 launch parties

Did you miss buying a PS3 from Bestbuy.com last night because you were out partying? Circuit City is giving gamers in a metro area another chance to purchase a system. In New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Washington D.C., Richmond or Philadelphia Circuit City is throwing midnight launch parties where they will sell 100 PS3s per store. Specifically in Union Square 100 people will win a PS3, while only five lucky people at the other stores will walk away with a free console. Union Square can be a pretty crowded place without special events and adding to the usual breakdance battles are 100 free PS3s. I can only imagine the chaos and wireless DS battles in the blistering cold on the night of November 16.

This doesnt make sence, it says its on the 16th but the ps3’s arnt coming out till the 17th plus according to sony, only 10-15 systems will be shipped to each store during the first week after the release, so how can they be selling 100 per store?

They are selling the PS3s at Midnight of the 17th so the party begins the night before, the 16th. Also not all CCs are going to have 100 PS3s, just a select few for special launch parties.
