One and half million copies of Final Fantasy XII in stores

Square-Enix has a lot of faith in Final Fantasy XII. In its first week in stores 1.5 million copies were shipped. This makes FF XII the current record holder for the number of copies shipped of a Square-Enix title. With 2.4 million copies already sold in Japan, Final Fantasy XII has been a huge cash cow for the company. It’s no surprise that a sequel is in the works, but how far do you think Square-Enix is going to take the Final Fantasy XII franchise? In the opening movie of Final Fantasy XII it begins with “Chapter 12: Of the Fall of Kingdoms”. Square-Enix could pull a Star Wars with this and have many prequels and sequels in the future.
