Sure Final Fantasy VI Advance is coming out soon, but it sticks to the game’s 2D roots. Instead of settling for GBA ports, one fan is taking on the challenge to remake parts of Final Fantasy VI for the PSP entirely in 3D. The picture above is a model of Terra and it was released in June 2006 along with a teaser trailer. The project has been slowly progressing and now it looks like the GUI for the game is almost complete.
I’ve got the GUI system virtually complete. In itself, it works 100%, but with any interaction to anything else (changing equipment, etc…), it’s not working yet, because I don’t have anything implemented for inventories/etc yet on the PSP version. All the GUIs in the game are loaded via XML files, so it’ll be easy to create/change layouts until I’m happy.
Looks like it’s going to be a long time until you’re going to get to play with 3D Magitek Armor.
If it’s not a fake it’s gonna end like the umm Chrono Trigger remake. Square gonna hunt them down. Cancel or be sued ^_^ So it will never be released Square Enix is too greedy to let them finish it.
no one will ever get to play this except the creator, because he states that it will not be released :(

Maybe I’m being oldschool, but I want VI to stay 2D. The FFIII remake looks good and all, but there’s just a je ne sais quoi about 2D sprites.
