Recently I have been so frustrated with the controls in other EA Sports games, such as NHL 07. They work just fine but they are way too complicated, and sometimes you lose the sense of control. NHL 07 for example plays fine and looks really nice (tho fighting looks now really laughable), but the game just feels too shallow. I believe that Wii controls will make sports games like NHL more fun again, also easier for your non-gaming friends to pick up and play. Fighting with Wii controls in NHL game? That will be fun, just that we have to wait almost a year until we see NHL game on Wii I think. Wii version all the way.
