Capcom is the king of adult rated games in Japan

While we know Capcom for Mega Man, Street Fighter II and Resident Evil, in Japan they’re known for releasing the most games with the CERO-Z rating. The taboo CERO-Z rating is similar to getting slapped with an NC-17 rating for a movie or getting the dreaded AO rating from the ESRB. Currently Capcom has eight CERO-Z games and most of them are developed outside of Japan. They took a risk to publish the Grand Theft Auto series and are releasing Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas on January 27, 2007. The gamble mostly paid off since the GTA series has been fairly successful in Japan. While some of their published CERO-Z games come from Rockstar, killer7 and Dead Rising were developed internally.
