Games mimicking Brain Age are all the rage. We’ve seen a fair share of clones and spin offs like Nintendo’s Common Sense Training DS. Now EQ Trainer DS is going to maximize your emotional quotient. EQ is a measure of how well you can manage your emotions and how well you can assess the emotions of others. Some psychologists believe that EQ is set in stone similar to IQ, while others believe that it is dynamic and you can increase it through exposing yourself to social situations. The Greaves versus Mayer debate sums it up nicely, but you can probably guess what side Tomy’s game is on. In EQ Training DS you select 20 or 40 questions from a database. Most are multiple choice questions where you pick an answer, but there is a more interesting group where you drawn an expression with the stylus. Can the DS really improve people’s social skills? We’ll find out in March 2007 when EQ Training DS is released.
