Toys for the rich: Arcade machine with a 100 inch screen

Those arcade machines with TVs and mounted joysticks are antiquated, at least in the eyes of the Dream Arcade. Instead of having a cabinet the Dream Arcade has a projector. It comes pre loaded with Atari classics like Asteroids and Pong so you can play them on a 100” screen. Larger than life Street Fighter II and a mega sized game of Pac Man sounds awesome, but at the price of $4499 plus shipping the Dream Arcade is a more exclusive item than a PS3 bought off of eBay. Also it’s hard to shell out that kind of dough when you can buy arcade classics over the Xbox Marketplace for $5 and get a quality projector for way under $4500. On the other hand it does come with House of the Dead III and playing that on a 100” screen is a dream come true.

Looks awesome, but I agree - it’s too expensive and you could do better with your own HD projector. I tried SF2 on Xbox live, but it doesn’t live up to my expecations. Graphically, the game looks more like an SNES port rather than an arcade-version replica.
