Linage II engine used to make a Killers music video

By Spencer . November 30, 2006 . 2:55pm

As a cross promotion for the Killer’s first album and Linage II, NCSoft made a music video for Mr. Brightside with the Linage II engine. Instead of watching the band sing the song like in the original video, the Linage II edition has dark elf sword fighting. The video was played on MTV in Asia and Europe, which is why you might not have seen it until now.

See the original music video past the break.

Too bad it’s a decent song represented by a terrible MMO. And it sounds like the lead singer was half awake during some of the re-recording of the song. Interesting, nontheless.

Pretty cool. I actually like Lineage’s models and whatnot, but the whole brand has a pretty tarnished name…

This is pretty cool. A fairly well-known band makes a music video entirely in machinima? Must be a first. And thanks to the fact that NCsoft made it, the animations are incredible. People always talk about graphics, but animations are equally important if not more these days… Too many games are plagued by stiff, unbelievable characters. That’s one of the greatest things about Half Life and the new Zelda games’ art styles.

And this is possibly the most professional and well-made machinima music video I’ve ever seen.
