Sega preps Shining Force EXA for Spring �07

While the Shining Force series begun as the great, great, great, grandfather of the modern SRPG it evolved to become an action RPG series. In some ways Shining Force EXA goes back to the series roots with the “Fortress System”. In the latest Shining Force game you have to balance between defending your base and engaging in combat. The home base can be upgraded so it doesn’t have to be maintained as much. The story about bringing together a war scarred land with sterotypical characters (the male lead is an idealistic sword swinger and the female lead is a quiet magic user) sounds boring, but Shining Force EXA’s gameplay sounds unique.
