Wii remote controls Half Life 2 for the PC

By Spencer . December 5, 2006 . 12:38pm

First GlovePie was released, which let people use the Wii remote on their PC. Now a gamer has taken this a step further and configured the remote to work with Half Life 2. As of now the nunchuk doesn’t work, instead the d-pad is used to move around and the internal accelerometers are used to control where you’re looking. The mod is impressive and the control looks flawless from the video. If this is any indicator of how the Wii remote can be used the future of first person shooters looks very promising.

Controls look a bit slow, but maybe it’s just his sensitivity. Wait, is that HL2 on a mac?

Sithlet Says:

That does look pretty cool, but looks like the sensitivity needs to be turned way up. I think FPS on the Wii will be bright, but the controls still take a bit of working on.

Even if it’s a Mac, it could be running Windows nowadays — so kind of hard to tell what HL2 it is.

Looks better than Red Steel!

It would be great to see nunchuck support as well. That would cut down on the awkwardness with crouching.

wow, that completely changes how almost all games are played. I wonder if I can hook the Wiimote to my PS2.

I wonder when the controls will become truly fluid.
