Square-Enix premiered this trailer at E3 2006 and it was later shown at the Tokyo Game Show. Now you can see the trailer with the solemn hooded figure for yourself. Final Fantasy Versus XIII deals with a struggle for a crystal. There isnt much known about the game yet, but since the Kingdom Hearts team is working on it, Versus XIII is presumably an action RPG. Will this convince anyone to buy a PS3?
This game is about 1/3 of what it will take for me to buy a PS3. The other 2/3 are Metal Gear Solid 4 and FF:XIII (the non-versus one). Other than those games I don’t really feel that anything PS3 has to offer is a “must have”; especially at 600 dollars. That being said I don’t dislike PS3… I think it shows a great deal of promise. It’s just that nothing else really interests me at the moment. I suppose RE:5 has some drawing power, but that’s supposed to be a non-exclusive game. Not that I own a 360 either. Unfortunately, none of those games are coming out anytime soon anyway. Which I suppose is for the better in a way.
PS: That music was superb.
It’s a nice cinamatic, and all, but it’s nothing to make me want a PS3. My problem is much like others here. The PS3 is a beast of a system and all, but it has ZERO content. And as nice as MGS4 will be, it’s miles from being done. RE5 will be alright, but I just never got into the series as much as most. And from what I have heard of the FFXIII line, you will have to have played this, FFXII, and a cell phone version of the FFXIII game to get the whole story. Right now, the only thing that might convince me that I NEED to get a PS3 is White night, or maybe another Dark Cloud game….Hell, Virtua Fighter 5 cannot even convince me to get that system, and I’m fiending for it like a fat emo kid craves a FF7 remake!
I have to admit, that cinematic alone convinced me that the PS3 will have at least one thing worthwhile about it. The exclusivity of Square-Enix’s jewel franchise. Which pisses me off cause as far as I can tell, the PS3 is good for nothing else really. And I don’t think Square-Enix should expect their fans to drop 700 dollars on a system and 80 dollars on a game just because they won’t produce the game for the other two systems.
That music was incredible though, I love it. I think a lot of Final Fantasy fans will be renting PS3’s when this game comes out.
Dude i love the music I NEED TO KNOW WHAT ITS CALLED!!!!!!!!!!!!

I guess that’s what they hired the Advent Children Staff for. The whole team solely hired to produce great CG cutscenes on top of the Kingdom Hearts Mechanic.
For once i would like to see more evolution than branching. The Final Fantasy XII direction is a great base to develop from. Advance the Gambit system into a simple friendly and graphical Programming interface. You teach ppl how to program AND play Final fantasy at the same time.
For statements, while statements, Multiple branched licenseboards, deviation, Bigger license boards, FFXIII has a lot to live up to. I would feel a lot better about the design direction if there was someoene like the FF Tactics director helming it.
