A look at Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates

While Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles came out on the Gamecube with mixed reactions, Square-Enix isn’t giving up on the franchise. They have Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates on display next week at this year’s Jump Fiesta. The game’s formula is similar to the Gamecube game where you work together with four friends to complete dungeons. FF:CC Ring of Fates takes advantage of the DS’ wireless connectivity, which will make playing with other people a lot easier than lugging around 4 GBAs and Gamecube / GBA connection cables. It also looks like Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Ring of Fates is throwing out the magicite system where you had to collect orbs to gain the ability to cast spells. See the MP meter at the bottom of the screen, that’s a change from the unlimited spell casting that the Gamecube game had.

The only thing now missing from this game is the ability to have vocal conversations while you play over Wifi. I can picture it now, 4 of us getting ready to take down some NM by planning who goes first, what attacks to use, what spells to use, then all of a sudden,..

LEEEEEEERRRROOOOOOOOYYYYYY JEENNNKIIIINNNNNNSSS!!!

I can’t wait for this and the Chocobo’s Story, either. It’s really amazing what Square’s been able to do with the DS, visually, in a little under a year. I can’t wait to see what they pull off in another six months.

Wow Finaly a good game for DS. I’ve only got 4 games for my DS and I’ve got it from the release date. I don’t like those retro puzzle games and those japanese simulations. The only games I like are action, adventure, First person shooter and RPG.
