Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Wii officially named “Crystal Bearers”With so much Final Fantasy news this week this probably isn’t that big, but Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles on the Wii is going to be called Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Crystal Bearers. That’s the same title Square-Enix showed at E3 and you can see the official logo. Exciting huh? No? Ok here’s a screenshot from one of the new animated cutscenes in Final Fantasy Tactics PSP remake.

I get the impression you’re a bit confused. Crystal Chronicles on Wii has nothing to do and plays nothing like Tactics. They’re just showing off the logo for the PSP remake of the PS1 Tactics (sweet logo btw)

Why wouldn’t you be excited about this game? The first CC was a good game, if it weren’t for that stupid thing about needing four gameboys to play properly, which you won’t this time around cause they’ll probably be using the wii-motes. Other then that inconvenience, the last game was a great game definitely worth playing, and this one will do better. I’m excited.

This is definitely a big step up from the GBA-Gamecube coupling system, but I don’t have that much hope for it. The gameplay for the original wasn’t great either; it involved few original moves, a lot of grinding, and the necessity of doing the same dungeons over and over again. A dungeon is fairly linear and gets boring even faster than crawling through open space for random battles. This game will probably focus on showing off the features of the Wii more than developing an actual game, much like what happened for the original Crystal Chronicles, so I’m not expecting much.
