Whether you know him as Mega Man, Rockman or the Blue Bomber today is his birthday. Back in 1987 Capcom released the first Rockman game on the Famicom which spread out to spin offs like the X series and oddities like Mega Man Soccer. His 19th birthday isn’t really a big deal, but Capcom has a lot planned for Mega Man next year when he turns 20. The first commemoration is Mega Man Star Force, a whole new series of Capcom’s longest running franchise. The picture below was made to celebrate Mega Man’s 10th anniversary.
Now look past the break at his 20th anniversary and see how many more friends he has.
Megaman is 19 year old and I’ve never watched an episode or played a game or even tried it, how sad :p.
Happy Birthday Rockman!!! 2 more years till megaman’s legally allowed to drink!!!
Wow, he’s exactly my age (well, close enough, we’re both 19). I should do like Casey A and play me some Megaman 1-6 and remember the good ol’ days of growing up with Megaman. Ah, those were good times…
Doctor Wily is going down!
I grew up with Astro Boy. When they stopped showing episodes in Canada, (thank goodness) my bro borrowed the first Mega Man for the NES. Then again, Mega Man 2 was much better (and still is)…I’m old.
