It might not be Gran Turismo HD, but Sony Liverpool’s next-gen Formula One title is a healthy dose of PS3 eye candy. Besides being a high definition racing game with “true realism” according to Sony’s fact sheet there is a feature that makes Formula One Championship Edition interesting, it uses the PSP to widen your playing field. Is the PSP going to act as a side mirror?

That really does not look realistic at all. Just look, both Mclarens are in front of the Renaults.

The integration of the PSP into racing games offers a world of possibilities. Surely, for this game, one might opt to use it exclusively as a side mirror. However, just imagine if you were able to link up three PSPs simultaneously in order for them to serve as your two side mirrors and rear-view mirror in more conventional racing games. Having such a game schematic would surely add depth to the game’s realism and add more credibility to the PS3’s $600 price tag.

Sure buy two more psp's to use then as rear-view, love the idea. It doesn't matter or you have realistic rear-view or not. There is a BIG difference between driving a car on the road and ione in a game. If you ever raced go-karts you know in that a car gives you info through the seat your sitting in. You're part of the machine so to say, it will be a long time before we have something like that in video games, till than I prefer a arcade racer above any so called realistic racing game.

A PSP as a rearview would be terrible.. where would it go? It would take so long to let go of the controller, grab the PSP, look at it for any length of time that might be helpful, and then drop that and grap the controller again. Meanwhile, you're supposed to be racing and paying attention to things. The only way a rearview is helpful is if you can glance at it quickly while still using your peripherals to watch the road in front. The PSP as a rearview will be completely useless once people try to integrate it into actually racing, and the idea will be a complete bust. Unless the PSP is for something else, which I hope, although I can't think of what else it might be used for.

Why can't people stop with those sport-racinggames. There's nothing fun about Formula 1. Mke more games like Burnout but please stop the F1 games. I've got the very first F1 game on my pc but after that I've stopped buying the games :P . I' think there's nothing more boring than a F1 game. Now you guys know my opinion :D

Each time I see these great pictures, I got more and more willing to get a PS3, but my efforts aren't enough to anchieve it!
