Jimi Hendrix and snowboarding come to the PSP

I haven’t seen one of these discs in North America, but in Japan a UMD disc is released in tribute of Jimi Hendrix. It has eleven clips of songs like “Purple Haze” and the classic “Star Spangled Banner” Woodstock video. The UMD is region 2 encoded so it only works if you bought a Japanese or European PSP. An interesting release in North America is a bunch of snowboarding vids released by Silver Platter. They have two out now, As if and The Community Project. UMD sales have failed for major movies, but some people believe in the format as a place to showcase niche videos.
