We’ve seen that people have been trading their Playstation 3s plus some cash to get a Wii on Craigslist, but one hopeful Wii owner is going a step further. Instead of pawning up game goods, he’s giving up a statue of the terror that lives in Jabba the Huts pit. The Star Wars rancor figure is limited to 9,500 pieces and it supposedly retails for $900. What would you rather have your Wii or the statue?
Hmm… Gee… Lets see, a turd with hands or an interactive game system. You know what? I just don’t know. Is there a third choice for a shot to the crotch?
Next time, that geek should just learn to manage his cash and to invest it in something that he can actual use for entertainment instead of something that doesn’t do dick.
I personally collect PVC Anime statues that an Asian store sales, but it’s never over $50 per statue and if there’s a good game out, I buy the game instead.
I’d take the statue, sell it, and then buy a Wii in several months when you can find it in retail.
If that Statue is really worth $900 why doesn’t the person just sell the statue themselves? Then he would have plenty of money for a Wii60 combo.
Really, if this thing is so valuable the reasonable thing to do would be to sell it on an auction site, say ebay, and reap the profits. Surely any rabid Star Wars fan would jump at the chance to own that statue, meaning it would go for a steep price.
This item looks like one of those manufacturer induced commodity items that they label with “Collector’s Edition” and jack up the price on.
Most likely the thing will end up losing value over time. So will the Wii, but since it’s not just a statue (it has an actual function) that doesn’t matter.
Either way, if he can find someone to trade him for it, more power to him. I’d definitely prefer to have a Wii though.
I thought the son of Skywalker killed the Rancor monster?

Pfft… that statue isn’t even mint in box! Fat chance of getting a Wii for that :P
