What are you looking forward to in 2007?

By Spencer . January 1, 2007 . 6:48pm

There are bunch of big name titles that I can’t wait to play next year, but what do you guys want to see? Suggest some games that we should cover on Siliconera in 2007. Place anything here, Japanese imports, US blockbusters, flash pet projects, your most anticipated games and so forth.

To sweeten the deal we’re going to give one lucky commenter the first Disgaea anime DVD, Disgaea Vol. 1: Netherworld Prince. Post from now until January 12 when we’ll draw a winner. Also if you’re a Disgaea fan there’s this Prinny desktop toy you can play with on your PC.

P.S. I’m drawing the winner for the Wii contest, last night was a long night.

Lol, Ironically, I downloaded the fansubs via bittorent yesterday night and started watching them today. Pretty good and funny anime, even for people like myself who aren’t big fans of the games.

The voice actors are well known, the characters are cute and there’s something funny every 30 seconds.

Rouge Galaxy.

I like they cel-shaded style, and the fantasy, sci-fi mix setting. Plus Level 5’s development team is simply amazing. The promise of nearly zero load time is also something I want to see.

Oops, sorry, I guess some of us got carried away with debates and flaming. Hope it didn’t take too long to read that 40+ reply topic.

All sorts of games. 2007 is going to be a good gaming year.

IceAmp Says:

Let’s see Mass Effect and Halo 3 look good. Izuna, Dragon Quest Wii and Wario’s DS game.

Shingin Says:

Anything dealing with Super Robot Wars!
The recent news with SRW W coming out for DS has gotten me excited about srw again!

Pichi Says:

I’m looking forward to:

Luminous Arc

Etrian Odyssey

Chocobo and the Magic Picture Book

Inuyasha: Secret of the Divine Jewel

Izuna: Legend of the Unemployed Ninja

Diddy Kong Racing DS

Dragon Ball Z: Harukanaru Goku Densetsu

FFTA2

FFXII: Revelent Wings

Heroes of Mana

Dragon Quest IX

Again, I second Rogue Galaxy, though I do hope it has a story to hold the game together.
I want to check out Heavenly Sword, MGS4, White Knight Story and FFXIII though I doubt that any of those RPGs will make for 2007, they’ll probably be released later.

Bleach 2nd for the NDs seems fun as well.

One Piece: Unlimited Adventure (Wii). Not because I am a huge One Piece fan (well, it is part of it), but because it looks different than the other OP titles. The new outfits and how it is more like an adventure game just makes me curious to see how it will be in the end. There haven’t really been any great anime based adventure games, at least none that I have played. So I really want it to be good.

I also can’t wait for Super Smash Bros. Brawl.

Pesmerga00 Says:

Oh, and Trusty Bell; Chopin’s Dream. Mainly for it’s innovative concept, and what I imagine to be a wonderful soundtrack.

Veilknight Says:

Super Paper Mario immediately springs to mind. The concenpt of a 2D platformer, in the style of the Paper Mario series on a home console to boot is enough to warrant the purchase for me.

ragingdwarf Says:

Persona 3, FF Tactis DS, Blue Dragon, VF 5, Rogue Galaxy, DQ IX, and would it kill Square to bring over a Secret of Mana collection, as opposed to the other less awesome Mana games…. Pllllleeeeeeaaase.

Jeff Says:

Let’s see… certainly Rogue Galaxy, as well as Dragon Quest IX and FFCC Rings of Fate. I’m a big fan of RPGs, what can I say?

Oh, and I’m definitely looking forward to any coverage of King of Fighters XII. Thanks to you guys, I imported and loved XI so I’m hoping XII will be just as good if not better.

I’m looking forward to games that I’ve never heard of before. The blockbusters will come and go and I will pick some of them up but I come here to hear about the titles I know little info about and the mainstream gaming media will not cover. So what I look for here in the future is a mystery until I hear about it but I’m happy with that :).

Symphony Says:

Please don’t neglect Smash Brothers Brawl.

Kakashi Says:

I’m looking forward to Lost Planet on XBOX 360, and of course, any import games that are really rare and barely have a chance of coming to the USA.

Oh BTW, I believe that a few posts ago, you mentioned Super Mario no Picross. I played the game via emulation about 10 years ago, and tried it again this morning. It’s an awesome game that tests your puzzle skills. It’s not even that weird, or “out there”, so like you, I’m surprised it never made it to the U.S.

You know what I’m looking forward to? You wanna know?

I’m looking forward to being able to walking into a Gamestop/Target/Best Buy/Circuit City/ Toys ‘R Us/Sears/ANYWHERE and finally buy myself a Wii. I’m looking forward to not having to call every damn retail store on the Westside of Albuquerque every single day to see if they 1) have any Wii, and 2) if they will still have one after 5:00 when I can get off of work. I’m looking forward to not hearing store operators tell me how they had 15 of them that morning and they sold out in 30 seconds! I’m looking forward to old people, soccer moms and non-gamers getting the hell out of my way so I can buy a product that I have been anticipating for over 2 years.

3 million Wii in the wild, and not one for me.

Kakashi Says:

rdaneel72: Just import one, for no more than $30-$50 more than the U.S. version. There are plenty of them in Hong Kong and (maybe) Japan.

Kakashi Says:

I’d like to see coverage on the Hokuto No Ken MMO.

thwiiguy22 Says:

the game i can’t wait for in 2007, is budokai tenkaichi 2 for the nintendo wii. the game is due the 15th of march and it’s on a thursday.

Laura Lowe Says:

I am lookin forward to the next Dragon Quest and anything else that has to do with dragons/fantasy and magic.

Veilknight Says:

Now that I think about it, I’m also really looking forward to Blue Dragon’s release here in the States. As a matter of fact, I wouldn’t mind seeing a playtest at Siliconera to see how well the game turned out before we get a chance to play it ourselves.

thwiiguy22 Says:

i’m looking forward to any play station 2 and nintendo games pretty much.
some games i’m not looking forward too.
