Unreleased Jaguar games now on eBay

Have extra holiday cash? Still have a Jaguar with a CD upgrade? For the three of you out there two unreleased games are on eBay. The first is American Hero, which is full motion video game like Dragon’s Lair. Supposedly American Hero has multiple actions and choices unlike Dragon’s Lair where each wrong choice leads to death. The other title is Black Ice / White Noise, a lost adventure game where you can’t do much except pick stuff up. It’s sort of surprising that games like this are appearing long, long, long after the Jaguar has been dead, but if you’re a collector go snatch them up.

I was actually pretty surprised at the prices of these two unreleased games. For some reason or another, I expected a price point that would be more out of the reach of an ordinary consumer. As it is, if you collect for the console (especially for titles that didn’t receive a commercial release), there’s no reason not to snag them up if you have the money.

Yeah, the price and the comment about playing non-commercial games makes me think that these are simply nicely packaged bootlegs.

    There homebrews not bootlegs.

Nope, these were official games planned for the Jaguar before it’s death. They were released by people who managed to get a hold of the games after the system was long dead. I believe both of these were released with the blessings of the original author(s). (although not necessarily Atari itself)

These are NOT one of a kinds at all, both were made available from various websites for a while, with the packaging, and were available for download as well. Which is why they’re not fetching astronomical prices. There are at least a few dozen copies of each (packaged), if not more.

So that explains it. I knew there was a reason these two games were going for such a low price for supposedly “unreleased” titles.
