Like the USA, Japan is porting PSP games to the PS2 to earn extra money from their hard developed games. Marvelous Interactive’s farm sim, Innocent Life, is headed for a remake and a new name, Shin Bokujou Monogatari: Pure Innocent Life. The game looks like the Harvest Moon series and it does share similarities with Harvest Moon, namely Marvelous’ role as the publisher. They’ve developed most of the older Harvest Moon titles, but Innocent Life is made by ArtePiazza. Innocent Life gives the protagonist a back story about why he’s on the island farming. There are also places to explore like a volcano and ruins, which tie into the game’s story where you restore the land in the ruins. The more RPG-like farm RPG adds in a new scenario and tweaked graphics for the Playstation 2 release. Supposedly Red Ant is publishing an English version of the PSP game in Australia in February 2007, but no one has announced any version of Innocent Life in North America.
well I just hope this verison is actually good… I heard so really really bad things about the PSP verison of the game…
Thank god, is all I can say. I hate that they are branching out and bringing out dif. versions of harvest moon (and the like) on other systems, particularly handhelds. I was afraid that between this title and Rune fatory (for ds) I would be screwed as I don’t plan on buying a ds or a psp. Maybe there is hope.

Although it’s cool that more and more companies are porting PSP games to the PS2, I think it’s a sign of the dismal PSP sales.
