Balthier to star in Final Fantasy Tactics: The Lion War

I don’t agree with the inclusion of Balthier, but I am glad that they’re making the Dark Knight class playable.

It could be just the art style that makes Balthier look young. The CG cutscenes from FFXII: Revelent Wings has Vaan and Penelo looking young, but that game is a sequel to FFXII.

Pichi - yeah you could be on to something, it might just be the art style that makes him look young and noseless. It is going to be interesting to see how Square ties him in.

Cherry - I’m psyched for the Dark Knight class too, but I hope they have more than blood sword and soul sword.

Balthier actually makes more sense than any other character from FFXII to throw in there. It doesn’t have to be Balthier from FFXII, just a distant relative of Mustadio Bunanza, as ole Balthier has essentially the same last name. He also uses guns, so he’d go along with the family “tradtition” of being machinists/using guns.

He looks unbelievably cool in said artwork, definitely would’ve made him popular with the fangirls had he appeared in XII in said attire.

It may be that for this version of FFT that they will remove the bonus appearances of Cloud and Aerith and replace them with a similar appearance of Balthier and Fran instead.

Or it could be like Rex says and it could not be the actual FFXII Balthier but a distant ancestor with the same name.

Whichever it is, both works about as well as having Cloud in the original, so let’s not be too nitpicky about it.

umm actuly cloud is in this aswell not sure if you get him the same way you did in tactics on the ps1 but he is confirmed
