From Geometry Wars to Boom Boom Rocket

Bizarre Creations, the creators of the Project Gotham Racing series and Geometry Wars, are working on a new Xbox Live Arcade game called Boom Boom Rocket. It’s a game where you shoot rockets to the beat of a song. The rockets explode and create fireworks depending on your timing. On paper the gameplay sounds similar to the Playstation 2 launch title, Fantavision. Ian Livingstone is making ten songs for the game and he’s known for composing the music for Starlancer and the Batman Begins games. Bizarre Creations did a fantastic job with Geometry Wars, which puts the pressure on the company to make a successful Xbox Live follow up. Electronic Arts believes that they can do it, they’re going to publish the game under the Pogo casual games label. Boom Boom Rocket is scheduled to be released in Spring 2007.
