Konami is packaging 15 arcade games from the 80s straight on to one DS cartridge. The games are:
Scramble
Time Pilot
Tutankham
Pooyan
Track and Field
Rock n Rope
Circus Charlie
Konami Super Basketball
Road Fighter
Yie Air Kung Fu
Gradius
Green Beret
Shao-Lins Road
Twinbee
Contra
Remember these are the arcade versions so the version of Contra in Konami Arcade Collection is not the NES release. While we’ve seen games like Gradius and Twinbee many times, there are some rarities in the collection. Circus Charlie where you make a clown riding a lion jump through flaming hoops and the maze game Tutankham come to mind. One neat feature in Konami Arcade Collection is the ability to save replays. You can record your perfect Contra run to show your friends. Also through the magic of game sharing you can send a replay to a friend. Konami Arcade Collection comes out in Japan on March 15 and it is also scheduled for a USA release in March.
The game they call Shao-lins road used to be called “Kicker” when it was released in 1985. I spent literally hours on that game and my friends can vouch that I fully mastered it. I remember playing that game one time for like 8 hours on one quarter. I had over 100 credits left and had went through every screen numerous times before it started getting dark and I had to be home. I handed over the game to some kids standing by and they were thrilled to have that many credits to play. Loved that game. I will own that one day.
