Where are you, Hotel Dusk?

Hotel Dusk is now available for sale; and with a review ratio of 83% on GameRankings, it seems as if this self alleged sleeper hit really is worth the purchase. The problem; where is it? Today after my last class ended, I took it upon myself to go by my local GameStop store to pick up a copy. Once I uttered the name of the game, the sales associate stopped me midway and said, "We don’t have the game in stock yet. You’re the fifth person today to come in and ask about the game."

I didn’t think it’d be that hard to find a copy of the game, but then I remembered that Hotel Dusk: Room 215 was a game Nintendo really didn’t advertise all too well and more than likely printed out in limited quantities. So I took it upon myself to visit some other GameStop stores in other cities, and those five stores I visited didn’t have the game at all…again, I was given the "you’re the [insert somewhat believable number] person to ask about the game." Talk about coincidental.

For those who don’t know, Hotel Dusk: Room 215 is an interactive novel adventure DS in which players take on the role of Kyle Hyde, an ex-cop who goes searching for a friend that’s suddenly gone missing. It’s a point and click game and boasts some of the most unique art style ever seen in a DS game. Hopefully searching for a copy tomorrow won’t be so hard.

How many of you were lucky enough to find a copy?

lol, I’m about to play my copy right now and so far enjoying every moment of it. The EB Games near me had only 10 copies when me and a friend went to pick it up, so glad I got one before it could have been too late.

If the game ends up in critical demand and limited supplies (meaning prices go far beyond the retail price on ebay), I wouldn’t be surprised if Hotel Dusk got a reprint, a la Trauma Center for the DS.

There were about 50 copies at the Nintendo World Store in NYC when I picked up mine. =(
