Dragon Quest Monsters Joker breaks a million

Japan loves Dragon Quest, big surprise. It was nearly guaranteed that Dragon Quest Monsters Joker for the DS was going to sell a million copies, but it only took one month to do so. To put the figure in comparison, Final Fantasy III DS still hasn’t reached the million mark in Japan even though that was a mega hit too. Even though Dragon Quest Monsters Joker is a DQ game, it’s considered a spinoff because it doesn’t have a number behind it. Square-Enix decided that Dragon Quest IX is going to be a DS exclusive and typically numbered Dragon Quest games sell much, much faster.
