After reading through this article, it isn't about the motion controls lacking itself, but how they aren't completely faithful to the character's special attacks. They don't, after all, use the same motions as the fighters on screen. It was stressed in videos that gamers would be able to accurately pull off attacks the exact same way as done in the anime itself to draw you closer into the Dragon Ball Z universe and give you that authentic feeling of playing as one of the actual characters.

For DBZ fans, that would certainly be a disappointment, for you may want to pull off one attack and end up doing something completely different (like how its mentioned pulling off the Kamehameha with Goku isn't involved by holding your hands out).

I totally agree with Liraco, you get used to the controls and find what works the best for you when using the Wiimote and Nunchuck. They are really fun once you get in you mode when playing the game, plus DBZ Budokai on next get!!! It looks so great.

Actually I disagree with this article. Sure, motions aren't exactly what they could have been but it is a port of a PS2 game. Besides, if you're gonna whine just plug in a GC or VC controller and problem solved.

Personally I too felt the controls weren't as great, but just like with many other games, once you get into it and find that sweet spot where the controls make sense, the game's a blast. I tried using the GC controller afterward but it just felt more natural to use motions. Yes, sometimes things don't register exactly how you want them, but the game's such a blast to play. Everyone who's played it wants it despite not immediately getting the controls.

It's just fun, and it adds a bit more strategy into the mix as it sometimes comes down to skill pulling off certain moves instead of just mashing buttons. I completely recommend this game, it's a blast, especially if you've got someone to fight (though there's tons to do in solo mode).

Whoever reads this article...please do not believe what this person is writing. DragonBall Z: Budokai Tenkaichi 2 is one of the best fighting games I have ever played. Instead of memorizing a bunch of ridiculous button combinations, all a user has to do is do a motion to preform a special move. The game is very long and has alot of depth. It is one of my favorite games and I would recommend it to anyone who has a Wii or is a dragonball z fan.

I have this game, but I've barely played it. I went through some of the training modes, and the Wii motion controls are just not sticking. When I go back to play it some time, I'll try it with a WaveBird and see how that goes.
